FDR Baseball Letter

About one month after the attack on Pearl Harbor, baseball commissioner Judge Landis wrote President Roosevelt, asking if professional baseball should be suspended during the course of the war. FDR's response was this letter, urging the commissioner to continue the sport for the morale of America.
