Red Book
I just got mine so I haven't read it yet, but after taking a careful look at it, I must say it has exceed my expectations (which were already very high as I knew exactly what I was buying and how full it was of drawings, poems, maps and family trees). It is bigger, thicker and more awesome than expected. The quality of its materials and its handwriting is astonishing. It took only two months from order to delivery, which is perfectly fine (even fast I would say!) taking into account all the hard work behind this marvellous master piece. As a true fan of both the books and the movies, I think I'm not wrong to consider this the nerdiest and coolest luxury tolkien-related collectible ever, above any sword, sculpture or special edition of the books or the movies. To sum up, this is something I was hoping to get for a long long time (if I didn't buy it before because I didn't know it was available for sale!) and I'm glad it is PERFECT...

The quality of the Red Book exceeded my expectations. The leather embossing and tooling are exquisite and the aged quality comes through in the treatment of the pages. Probably most surprising to me is the text itself, sometimes quoting from Tolkien, sometimes not. I found the text to be very emotive, and the side notes to be humorous and moving. Very pleased with the attention to detail. Highly recommend!..

Upon receiving the package with the book you feel as if the postmaster of the Shire just send you the Red Book of Westmarch right from Undertowers. Everything from the handmade leather binding to the aged paper and of course the authentic handwritings of Bilbo, Frodo and Sam just feel as if crafted in Middleearth. You just feel as if the story you know and love was told to you from the perspective of the hobbits (e.g. Bilbos creative version of the finding of the ring). Adding to the immersion are dozens of beautiful handdrawn maps, pictures and family trees. In conclusion this piece of art is the pinnacle of every Lord of the rings collection and i would recommend it to everybody who wants to realy immerse himself in this great story.
Just one quick note on the shop itself: Very quick and uncomplicated delivery from New Zealand to Germany and great customer service!..

This is a very stunning book! I and many others that have seen it all love it. it reads just like a normal book and I very much love all the drawing and art work...

A gorgeous piece from the beautiful binding to the perfectly replicated and imaginative handwriting and drawings - not to mention the text itself (what a nice interpretation of how Bilbo describes his coming by the ring). A truly magnificent work...

This is just a superb piece of craftsmanship! It is very detailed, just can't wait to add to my LOTR collectibles. Very recommended for every LOTR collector, this is a MUST for us. Thank you so much for bringing this Red Book for us...
