Now when I stumbled onto the web site and saw the images for the Red Book of Westmarch, I thought that this would make for a nice addition to my Tolkien book collection. But then after receiving the book in the mail and looking through it; those online images did not do it justice! This replicated copy is beautifully hand rendered and surpasses my expectations, a definite must have for serious Tolkien collector. Thank you magnoliclothiers.com..

I just received the Red Book of Westmarch, and it has far surpassed my expectations. The effort and detail that went into this book is evident the moment you unwrap it. The manner in which it was written and the corresponding illustrations nearly convinced me that this was Bilbo's journal. I will treasure it forever and highly recommend it...

I love it. Amara (my daughter) gifted me this book for Christmas. I have been a fan of LotR since I was 12 years old, and one of my favorite details is how Tolkien recites the lineage of the book containing his story at the beginning ("a Note on Shire Records"). Decades ago, I came across a special edition bound in red to simulate the Red Book of the Periannath, but could not buy it then, and have never seen anything like it since. Your recreation of the Red Book surpasses, by far, anything I have ever seen. I love it--the multiple scripts indicating several different authors, the illustrations, the paper and binding--it all comes together to create a remarkable work of art. I am sure several artists were involved, so please thank them all for me. I am simply blown away by the care put into a gift for a stranger. Kia ora, kia mihi!..

This book is incredible. The craftsmanship and detail is extraordinary and absolutely beautiful. I love the fact that Bilbo, Frodo, and Sam all have their own writing styles. I could go on and on about how the amazing drawings and maps. If you are a die hard LOTR fan, this book is a must have...

Part 2 It should be clear that this is Bilbo's account of his adventure and Frodo's account of his (with added brief material relating to Sam, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli). Thus it does not cover the adventures of Merry and Pippin in Fangorn, Rohan, and Gondor. Also it is faithful to the book narrative, not the PJ films: Crickhollow, Old Man Willow, the Barrow Wight, Tom Bombadil and Glorfindel and the Scouring of the Shire are all here. The influence of the films is seen in the artwork. It would be interesting to devise the accounts by Merry and Pippin and Aragorn in their own styles...
