Absolutely tremendous quality. The hand-writing changes depending on whom (Bilbo, Frodo, Sam) is canonically writing in the book, and lots of little touches of love in the design. I was a little skeptical until it arrived but was awestruck from there on...

This book is insane! I bought this as a birthday present for my fiance, who is a huge Lord of the rings fan (far more than I am), and I'm jealous that it's going to be hers. The different handwriting for each character is a great touch, not to mention the maps and illustrations. Couldn't believe how quickly it got here too, I'm in the UK, and it took less than 2 weeks from NZ! Overall, amazing product, amazingly quick shipping, really impressed. Thanks very much..

This book is fantastic - less a prop and more a true work of art. I don't really know where to start, or how to add to what other reviewers have already said. I haven't yet had the opportunity to do much more than flip through the pages but this book is exquisite. The deep red leather is perfect and looks aged to the same degree as the pages. The tooling and embossing details on the cover is screen accurate as are the embossed and silver foiled Star of Elendil and the BB on the front. The book is held closed by leather thong ties which really adds to the feel of this book being a journal of the adventures of Bilbo, Frodo and Sam. The calligraphy is beautiful and it's a very nice touch to have the hands change with the author: Bilbo's script is different to Frodo's, as is Sam's, so it is very obvious when the writing of the story is taken up by a new person. The book has many detailed maps and pictures throughout and is a beautiful blend between the original artworks created by J.R.R. Tolkien for his works, and art in the style of the The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings movies directed by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. As well as the main narrative there are all sorts of marginal notes and extra details, such as The Road Goes Ever On near the end of the book. It is written by Bilbo, Frodo and Sam so follows events from their perspective, and although I think there are some sections about the Rohirrim, Ents and Gondor, the main narration in the Lord of the Rings section penned by Frodo concerns the Quest of the Ringbearer and the journey of the Ring to Mount Doom. This beautiful book will be taking centre place in my collection of Hobbit and Lord of the Rings replicas. It's like the Magnoli team reached into Middle Earth. I had been toying with the idea of getting this book since I first saw Magnoli were planning to make a replica Red Book. I am very glad that I was finally able to to afford this book and although I was expecting it to be amazing, having it in my hands blew me away with how much work and attention to detail has gone into creating it. I am now very much looking forward to finding the time to sit down and read the journaled version of The Quest for Erebor and The Downfall of the Lord of the Rings and the Return of the King as seen by the Little People, being the memoirs of Bilbo and Frodo of the Shire, supplemented by the accounts of their friends and the learning of the Wise, together with extracts from the Book of Lore translated by Bilbo in Rivendell. I cannot praise Magnoli enough for creating their replica of The Red Book of Westmarch. It is quite expensive, but is absolutely excellent value for money given the quality of the materials that have gone into the book and the time and effort spent researching, creating the content, drawing, and writing it. The book took Magnoli around 20 days to make and was delivered in 3 days from New Zealand to the UK. It was securely wrapped and arrived in perfect condition. If you are thinking about buying a copy of this book I cannot urge you strongly enough to save up and purchase it, you will not be disappointed rather amazed at how much detail, care attention and love have gone into making this book. It is the pride of my collection of Middle Earth replicas, the pride of my collection of books and is one of my most treasured possessions. Thank you Magnoli for your incredible hard work, love and devotion to Tolkien's universe that shines through every page of this beautiful book...

There must have been some allergens around when I opened the package, because my eyes got a little misty. This is a beautiful & loving recreation of the prop from the film, and I could not be more pleased. This is now my favorite piece in my entire collection...
