This is truly a work of art!! As an avid book-lover/budding collector and a lover of all things Tolkien; I had high hopes and expectations for this book. I actually worried that I may have set my hopes too high- boy was I wrong! This “Red Book” (of Westmarch/ Periannath) BLEW ME AWAY. Truly. Not only does it feel like it is old enough to be the "real thing"; it also SMELLS old. Not in a chemically-processed old or faked old way either. That is incredibly difficult to do! What's inside is even more amazing. They've managed to pull off the perfect balance between Tolkien's original art sketches, maps, and story and also movie-based sketches and references. I can't explain it but it feels like the missing piece between them while still honoring Tolkien's work. The changes in "speech" (writing) patterns and the fact that they truly appear to be written by different authors shows their top-notch level of attention to detail. My search for a collectible but authentic-feeling "Red Book of Westmarch" has gone on for at least 15yrs and I've actually had this page saved in my favorites for about 5yrs. I kept going back and forth on whether or not I was okay with spending this much and risk being disappointed with it not feeling "real" enough to satisfy my own expectations. Having finally taken the plunge and purchased this one; I can honestly say I don't think I'll ever find another version that can top how beautifully and perfectly crafted they have made this and I would have gladly paid more for this than what they're asking. This book seems so authentic that it makes you wonder if maybe, just maybe; Middle Earth really existed. This has immediately become one of my most prized possessions (if not THE most) and I will treasure this forever...

Words really cannot describe how beautiful this book is. I ordered the full written version and I didn't regret a second. I really love the attention to details like the different handwritings, the little side notes or crossed out words. This book really feels like coming straight from Middle Earth...

Don't hesitate to buy this if you're considering it. It's truly a work of art, and I couldn't be happier with it. The amount of care and research that must've gone into this is astounding. Thank you Magnoli Props!!..

This magnificent book has the uncanny effect of instilling a sense that you are, without a doubt, holding a genuine artifact of the past. Things that stood out to me were the old-wolrd smell, the feel of the aged leather and paper, the incredible craftsmanship, the stunning attention to detail, and the extra-literature research that went into this project (Bilbo's farewell poem from one of Tolkien's personal letters was an amazing touch). If there was one piece of ultimate fandom that would ever be worth spending a pretty penny on, this is it - not only because of the content, but this is genuinely a piece of artisanal work. I was blessed to receive this book as a collective birthday gift from my friends and family, and after seeing pictures of one many years ago I feel extremely lucky to have secured a copy. It inspired me to try my hand at calligraphy and create my own copies of Tolkien's "Kings Letter" and "Thorin's Letter" which now also reside in my red book. To anyone reading and considering, stop looking at the images, save up the money, and buy one - you will absolutely not regret it...

This book is $%#&ing incredible! Beautiful and compelling retelling of the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings that genuinely reads as though it was written by Bilbo, Frodo, and Sam, with accompanying marginalia and art in the style of each author. This Red Book of Westmarch genuinely feels like an artifact from Middle Earth...
